Al Emadi Hospital has received the Diamond Level under Accreditation Canada’s QMENTUM International Programme.
The Diamond Level is the highest level of accreditation that can be achieved under Accreditation Canada’s QMENTUM International programme and is awarded to exceptional organisations that are committed to delivering quality services and putting patients at the centre of their care.
The award follows a rigorous three-year cycle that culminated in an assessment visit in December 2019, in which the hospital was assessed on 11 standards and 1,584 criteria that included Clinical Decision making, Leadership, Administration, Reprocessing services, Laboratory and Radiology services.
The assessment reviewed the hospital’s commitment to achievement of quality by monitoring outcomes, using evidence and best practices to improve services and benchmarking with peer reviewed organisations to drive system level improvements.
Al Emadi Hospital had a compliance of 99.3 percent with all assessed standards and criteria. By Achieving this, Al Emadi Hospital is the first private hospital in Qatar to achieve Diamond Level Accreditation status.
Dr Mohamed Abdullah al Emadi, chairman, founder and general & bariatric surgery senior consultant at Al Emadi Hospital, said: "Al-Emadi Hospital is proud on behalf of its hardworking and meticulous management and staff to receive this prestigious accreditation, as it clearly demonstrates the excellent progress in its journey towards patient safety and quality improvement.
"This recent accreditation award reiterates Al Emadi Hospital’s mission to provide the best healthcare possible, not just in the country but the region as well. Al-Emadi Hospital strives to make sure all the services provided are on par with the highest international standards in healthcare.”
Al-Emadi Hospital’s CEO Abdulrahman Mohamed al Emadi said, "Getting a certificate is easy but maintaining and upgrading it is difficult, more so in achieving the Diamond Level. Being able to maintain and improve the quality of the hospital and continually making rapid progress in even further improving our superlative and unparalleled health care could not have been possible without the consistent and dedicated efforts of all our hardworking staff and employees. This is a tremendous achievement for the hospital and another milestone in our journey towards maintaining excellence and continually improving the health care we provide.”
Al-Emadi Hospital vows to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value, while at the same time, continuing to focus on diversifying its departments and healthcare services with its growth and expansion plans which are always in line with the vision of the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and the Qatar National Health Strategy.
Dr Abdulelah al Adimi, assistant CEO and medical director, said: "This is a significant achievement for Al Emadi Hospital. It confirms our commitment to quality improvement and patient safety. It is the outcome of our commitment to accreditation for the past nine years and over three cycles.
"We are also grateful to the Ministry of Public Health for its cooperation and commitment to quality improvement and patient safety. Our participation in many of MoPH’s programs – Health Service Performance Agreement (HSPA), National Licensing and Accreditation system, WHO patient-friendly hospital initiatives - has contributed in allowing us to build the capacity to achieve Diamond Level Accreditation Status. We would also like to thank our Quality Control department for their continuous efforts and we will continue our quality journey and will always keep our patients at the centre of our care.”
