Qatar Charity (QC) took part in various sports activities organised by Qatar University (QU) on National Sport Day (NSD), aiming at raising awareness about the importance of sports and physical activities in maintaining and improving overall health and fitness of individuals and societies, and reducing the risk of many chronic diseases.
QC’s participation in the National Sport Day activities has witnessed the attendance and participation of Dr Hassan bin Rashid al Derham, president of QU, a large number of students, professors and employees of the university, and several officials and employees of QC.
QC employees participated in activities such as walking, physical exercise and a football match with the university team.
Dr Derham expressed his happiness with the participation of QC in the activities of the National Sport Day, and noted that Qatar is keen to see each one living in the country in good health and fitness, praising the humanitarian role that QC plays throughout the world.
Derham expressed his pride in QC’s institutional work based on professionalism and its eagerness to participate in the activities of the National Sport Day. It is an indication of the awareness QC employees enjoy, he said, noting many partnerships and joint initiatives between the university and QC.
Jassim al Emadi, director of the Local Development Department, said that QC always participates in the activities that Qatar holds annually, including the National Sport Day events.
QC said its participation in sports activities aimed to promote the culture of sports and raise awareness about the importance of physical exercise in building a healthy society. The charity said it attaches great importance to health development as an essential pillar of local development.
