Around 4,000 people visited the renovated Al Khor Family Park in two days after it reopened on Sunday.
More than 838 people used the train inside the park on Sunday and Monday.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) opened the Al Khor Family Park to public on Sunday. Seven new sections were added to the park after its renovation, which includes 315 animals from 49 species. The 240,000 sqm park features a zoo, a waterfall and a battery-operated train, a restaurant, mosque, museum, skating area, children’s play area among others.
Al Khor Park has two play areas: one for older children and one for younger children. These play areas are completely covered with a rubber floor and cover an area of approximately 4,000 square metres. There is also an external area for sports and surfboarding.
The safety and security standards have also been redeveloped to ensure that all visitors to the park can spend time there without having to worry about anything.
The Park has a Roman-like amphitheatre that can accommodate about 400 people. This theatre can be used for events and parties.
The Mosque in Al Khor Family Park can accommodate 360 worshippers.
There are dedicated pathways for people who have special needs to make their visit to the park comfortable and safe.
Al Khor Family Park has well-manicured green spaces and is home to 42 types of trees, shrubs and different plants that add to the beauty of this much loved park.
The park is open to families from 10am until 11pm on week days and from 2pm to 11pm on Friday.
