Addis ABABA: A religious crown dating back to the 18th century was returned to Ethiopia on Thursday, after having been kept hidden in the Netherlands for more than two decades.
The crown was looted from an Orthodox church in the northern Ethiopian village of Cheleqot 25 years ago, Culture Minister Hirut Kassaw told DPA.
Sirak Asfaw, man of Ethiopian origin living in Rotterdam, saw the stolen crown in the suitcase of a visitor, according to Ethiopian state broadcaster FANA. (DPA)
