Amir honours Education Excellence Award winners

QNADohaThe Amir hh Sheikh Tamimbin hamad al Thani patronisedthe 13th education excellenceDay award ceremony2020 at Doha Sheraton hotelon Tuesday under the theme"excellence Builds Generations”.The ceremony was attendedby Prime Minister andMinister of Interior he SheikhKhalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulazizal Thani, a number ofsheikhs and ministers, headsof the diplomatic missions accreditedto the state, senior officialsin the education, highereducation and research sectorand parents of the outstandingstudents.The Amir honoured 83winners of the educationexcellence Award, who areMaster and Doctorate’s degreeholders, university andhigh schools graduates andoutstanding primary and preparatoryeducation students,in addition to the winners inthe categories of outstandingteacher and school and scientificresearch.A film about the 2020Award and the winners in variouscategories and their futureaspirations to serve theircountry was screened duringthe ceremony.Addressing the award ceremony,Minister of educationand higher education he DrMohammed bin Abdul Wahedal hammadi thanked the Amirfor patronising the ceremonyand sponsoring this awardsince its inception 13 yearsago.The minister hailed theimportant role and sincere effortsof the late former Ministerof education and highereducation Sheikha Ahmed alMahmoud, who contributedto the development of educationin Qatar and was one ofthe founders of the educationexcellence Award.he said this edition of theaward has witnessed a qualitativedevelopment in termsof the nature of participationand the honoured persons, asabout 300 students and educationalinstitutions competedfor this award, 83 of whom metthe criteria for excellence.
