The Ministry of Public Health on Saturday reported a new confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Qatar, taking the total number of cases in the country to 12.
The infected patient – a Qatari citizen who recently returned from Iran --- is undergoing treatment at the Communicable Disease Center under complete quarantine. His condition is stable, the MoPH said.
In a statement, the MoPH confirmed that the patient has not had any contact with community members since his arrival. The chances of the disease outbreak in Qatar are still low, it added.
The MoPH has reiterated that its coronavirus contact centre is ready to receive reports or inquiries related to the virus around the clock on the toll-free number (16000).
