Qatar Media Corporation Chief Executive Officer His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad al Thani, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, inaugurated two TV stations affiliated to Qatar TV called ‘Education 1’ and ‘Educational 2’.
The multi-faceted media and educational project comes within the corporation’s efforts in its responsibility towards society in providing educational platforms and channels for children, and for a smooth and easy transition to distance education.
The ‘Education 1’ and ‘Educational 2’ become two platforms that support the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to complete the academic year in proper conditions for students and parents.
The launch of the stations confirms the commitment of the Qatar Media Corporation to all its media institutions and their social responsibility towards the Qatari society, and to make an effective and practical contribution for the success of the educational process in light of the exceptional circumstances in Qatar and around the world with the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) and the disruption of schools in many countries.
With the new educational and media project, the Qatar Media Corporation and Qatar TV will specifically place their human and technical expertise in the service of students and their parents in order to overcome these special circumstances that necessitated the application of preventive and precautionary measures, the most prominent of which was the suspension of school.
The stations will enable students to resume studies across multiple platforms, including TV channels, in the coming period.
The ‘Education 1’ and ‘Educational 2’ channels will support the pilot experience launched by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education since 2011 for distance education.
