The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has postponed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examinations 2020 until further orders. The decision comes as a precautionary step to check the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to an FBISE notification, the HSSC and SSC papers have been postponed for all board examination centres established in overseas institutions due to the closure of educational institutions by the respective governments as a precautionary measure to control the outbreak of coronavirus. The revised schedule of the examinations will be announced later.
Meanwhile, operations at One Window Cell of FBISE has also been suspended until further orders. The official business shall be carried out through online applications which can be signed in by visiting the FBISE website. Meanwhile, e-mail, phone, fax and webchat services can also be used. Islamabad-based FBISE was established in 1975 and functions under Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. Besides conducting HSSC and SSC examinations for overseas Pakistani institutions, its jurisdiction also includes institutions located in Islamabad Capital Territory, Federally Administered Northern Areas, cantonments and garrisons all over Pakistan.
Pakistani educational institutions in Qatar including Pakistan International School, Pak Shamaa School and College and Bright Future International School are affiliated to the board.
