The fifth Qatar Chapter Inter-School Teachers’ Discussions Forum on ‘Remote Learning – Challenges and Opportunities’, was conducted on Saturday with the participation of teachers from 12 Indian schools.
The forum, conducted on Zoom app, ignited the key question currently confronting the educational system as a result of the global lockdown due to the COVID-19
pandemic.
Six teachers from DPS-MIS, including Parvathy Gopalakrishnan as the panel member and Deepa Lavanya, Kakoli Biswas, Priya Susan, Thelma and Lakshmi Bijoy as participants, attended the session.
Addressing challenges and reinventing ways to conduct online assessments and tests was discussed by Parvathy. Other relevant topics and strategies were also presented and discussed by the panel members during the two-hour session.
The heads of Indian schools shared their thoughts on the different ways to improve remote learning sessions and make them highly interactive, engaging and fruitful.
The session was moderated by Nazia Saleem of SIS. Subash B Nair, principal, Shantiniketan Indian School, proposed the vote of thanks. He appreciated the panellists and audience for facing the challenges presented by the emergency remote learning bravely and coming forward to explore and discuss new ways that could add new perspectives and set novel standards to remote learning strategies.
