The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Saturday announced 1,547 confirmed new cases of COVID-19, taking the total infected tally in Qatar to 30,972.
In the last 24 hours, 242 people recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the country to 3,788.
Sadly, a 74-year-old resident, who was receiving necessary medical care in intensive care, succumbed to the virus. The ministry extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased.
In a statement, the MoPH said 15 new cases have been admitted to Intensive Care Units in the last 24 hours due to health complications resulting from infection, bringing the total number of cases receiving treatment in intensive care to 158. All the new infected cases have been quarantined and they are receiving the necessary medical care, it added. (TNN)
