The domestic football competitions for 2019-2020 season will be completed between July 24 and August 26 2020, Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on Sunday.
This announcement comes after the COVID-19 outbreak had earlier forced the suspension of all matches to safeguard members of the Qatari football family, QFA said in a statement.
QFA confirmed that the decision to play in the selected period along with accompanying preventive procedures was taken after consultation with authorities in the MOPH with the aim of maintaining the safety of all concerned personnel including players, staff, officials and referees.
Players’ annual leave
Meanwhile, the Qatar Stars League (QSL) issued a circular on Sunday regarding the annual leave for players, the date for the start of training and resumption of 2019-20 season QNB Stars League, based on the circular issued by the Qatar Football Association (16-113-2020).
In this regard, QSL decided that the annual leave for players would start on Sunday, 17th of May, 2020, and end on Sunday, 7th of June, 2020.
According to the circular, Coronavirus tests will be conducted for all technical as well as administrative staff and players on 8 and 9 June, 2020, and the training sessions will start on Wednesday, June 10.
As for the 2019-20 season QNB Stars League will resume on Friday, 24th July, 2020, subject to a number of precautionary measures and procedures that will be announced later.
