Tribune News NetworkDohaTeachers of Indian schools in Qatar were honoured with the award of excellence during Indian Teachers’ Day celebration organised by the Indian Cultural Centre(ICC), under the aegis of Embassy of India, at Ashoka Hall. Four teachers from MES Indian School including Thithaymu Abdul Azeez, Fency Pathrose, Jency George and Zeenath Jalal received awards in the categories of K.G, Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary, respectively.The criteria for selection included excellence in academic achievements, contribution to students’ growth and innovative activities initiated by the teachers. It was a big motivation and inspiration to the teachers who received the award. Principals of various CBSE schools in Qatar joined the award giving ceremony.Ambassador of India to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal inaugurated the event. Lauding the Indian teachers, he described teachers as the building blocks of a good education system, stressing that their service and contribution in promoting the education system is commendable and expected in future. He also urged the teachers to work in a concerted manner to realise the dream and vision of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047.Dr Hameeda Kadar, principal, M.E.S Indian School, Doha, appreciated the ICC officials for coming up with the Teachers Award Ceremony. “It is a great motivation for the teachers to be honoured in such a big and elite gathering,” she said.During the cultural segment of the programme, more than 150 teachers from various Indian schools in Qatar displayed their skills in singing, dancing and acting.
