The Friday and Dhuhr prayers will not be held in mosques that have reopened in Qatar on Friday, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has said.
The ministry said worshipers can perform the Dhuhr prayer at home on Friday. The rest of the prayers will be held on time at the mosques that are open. The ministry called on worshipers to cooperate.
The ministry announced the reopening of 500 mosques across the country as the authorities began the first phase of a four-phased plan to lift the COVID-19 restrictions on June 15.
The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management had said prayers at the reopened mosques will be held as per the precautionary measures announced by the government. Worshippers will be required to bring their own prayer mats, wear masks and show their health status on COVID-19 contact-tracing app Ehteraz.
