The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has started the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Al Egda Al Heedan and Al Khor (Package 1) which is located west of Al Bayt Stadium and covers Al Egda area to the west of Al Khor Road and Al Heedan area to the east. The project aims to develop internal streets in the area and provide infrastructure facilities such as storm water and foul sewer drainage networks to respond to residents’ needs and the urban growth. Project Engineer Eng Hamad Al Badr said the project provides services for 738 new residential plots. The project includes developing a road network with a total length of 19 km street lighting, road signs and road markings, as well as other road safety elements.
