The General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced the launch of the first phase of the new online tax-paying system called ‘Dhareeba’.
All companies are required to register on the new portal starting from July 1, 2020, and complete the registration process within 90 days.
Taxpayers who register on the portal before September 30, 2020, will be exempted from the existing penalties related to previous registration and issuance of tax cards.
Dhareeba is built on SAP international business management platform, which is the latest in intelligent technologies that accelerate the transformation of data into business value and it will serve as a vital link between GTA and its partners, government bodies, and taxpayers. This system promises to simplify the process of filing tax returns for the companies in a fast, accurate, and transparent way.
The launch of Dhareeba is in line with the Qatar Digital Government’s 2020 strategy that helps to facilitate all tax procedures while meeting Qatar’s future requirements to establish a link between all tax-related entities in accordance with the latest international standards, systems, and expertise in this respect.
The new tax portal provides GTA with digital channels to serve all its partners such as the government, tax agents, and the taxpayers. It has been designed to manage, calculate, and review various types of taxes to help taxpayers identify the procedures related to their transactions and receive notifications on the progress of their operations.
All taxpaying companies are required to register on the Dhareeba website from July 1, 2020, as the registration on the old system will soon be discontinued.
