Qatar Chamber is all set to hold the first conference on ‘Developing Partnership between Public and Private Sectors’ under the patronage of Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and QC Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani on July 7.
The conference’s opening will be addressed by the minister, QC chairman, Public Works Authority (Ashghal) President Saad bin Ahmed Al Muhannadi and Qatar Financial Center (QFC) CEO Yousef Al Jaidah.
The conference, organised in cooperation with Al Mashoura Advertising via video conference, aims to raise awareness among the business sector on Law No 12 of 2020 regulating the partnership between public and private sectors that was issued in May and enters into force on July 11.
The QC has invited businessmen and interested persons to register online for attending the conference.
The event includes three working sessions. The first session will deal with opportunities and challenges expected after the implementation of the PPP Law. The second session will review partnership laws and some leading international experiences, while the third session will discuss many legal studies related to partnership between both sectors.
About 15 speakers from prestigious local and international organisations will participate in the conference. Speakers from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Justice, Qatar Chamber, Qatar Free Zones, Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Finance Center, Qatar Investment Authority, as well as speakers from Qatar University College of Law, and international speakers from Brazil and the United Kingdom will also participate in the virtual conference.
The conference is supported by many leading companies, banks and institutions. The conference is being held through Microsoft Teams application and will be published on the conference website www.pppqatar.com, as well as on social media channels Facebook and YouTube.
About 5,000 people are expected to attend the conference.
