THE Managing Committee (2019-20) of Maharashtra Mandal Qatar (MMQ), an Indian community organisation, recently held an event to welcome the new Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal and First Secretary (Consular & Community Affairs) S Xavier Dhanaraj.
MMQ President Neelambari Sushant Savardekar formally received both the dignitaries on behalf of MMQ. She also gave a brief introduction to the MMQ and its Managing Committee on the occasion.
Sanjay Patil, general secretary of MMQ, informed the guests about about the significant educational and philanthropic activities undertaken by MMQ during the years 2019 and 2020.
Parag Sonawane, joint secretary; Atul Desvandikar, treasurer; and Shweta Koshti, Managing Committee member, highlighted the much talked about repatriation activity undertaken by the MMQ.
In his address, the Indian ambassador appreciated the significant contribution of MMQ towards repatriation and other community-related activities. Dr Mittal also expressed his support for the organisation in its future activities, as well as openness to discuss any suggestions.
MMQ Managing Committee members Sujit Khanloskar and Sagar Mangavkar spoke about the various activities and events organised by MMQ for the community.
On the occasion, Sanjay Patil presented a small plant while Sagar Mangavkar presented a Maharashtrian turban called ‘feta’ to the ambassador as a goodwill gesture.
