THIS year's Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) has been offering a wide range of fun activities that cater to groups. But perhaps one of the greatest offerings is the spacious food court at Entertainment City, which has become the centre of attraction for visitors, due to the wide variety of food choices.
A group of outlets offer different cuisines such as Arabic, Turkish, Indian, Filipino, Mexican and several other fast food options. Another great aspect of the food court is the huge seating area that can accommodate a large number of visitors at any given time.
Visitors fond of Mexican food can enjoy at 'Mr Taco'."I am very pleased with our first participation in QSF and we have already received fantastic responses from both the local and expatriate visitors," said Pepe Corria, head chef of Mr Taco.
He continued,"We offer an exciting menu of original Mexican food, which includes Tacos, Burritos and Quesadillas which are closer to the Arabic Shawarma, but with a unique Mexican flavour. Our special hibiscus and tamarind drink called 'Carkara' is getting a great response as well. And as a particular treat, we are serving 'Churros', which we offer with Nutella proving to be a big success among children."
The popular Johnny Rockets is also doing exceptionally well by offering five different types of burgers and four different shakes to visitors. Outlet Manager Haitham Mohamed Azouz stated,"We are planning to introduce a new menu in the coming days suitable for visitors of all ages, with special attention paid to children, as they are the largest group that visits Entertainment City on a regular basis." He continued,"We are hoping to have a much bigger response to our outlet by the last week of the festival. So, we are planning accordingly by introducing more items and drinks within the next few days."
Syrian Chef Abu Talha Shabani, participating for the third consecutive year, donned the traditional Syrian attire as he served some of his hometown's favourites 'fatayer' and grilled dishes. The 'fatayer' with Turkish cocoa cream Cikonella is the highlight of his outlet.
Along with the several international cuisines available at Entertainment City are local Qatari entrepreneurs utilising the festival to display some of their own specialties including Karak tea. 'Baba Chapatea' has been visited regularly thanks to their 19 types of paratha as well as their steaming Karak.
The ever popular Bombay Chowpatti is among many of the outlets that have attracted Indian expatriates, serving a wide range of popular Indian street food, which are in demand by the visitors.
With such a high level of humidity in the atmosphere, the level of discomfort is averted at Entertainment City, where families can enjoy the cozy ambience of a fun-filled festival while spending quality time with their children and loved ones.
