Katara Cultural Village is a world-class cultural centre like that of any developed country around the globe, HE Dr Jose A. Benzaquen Perea, ambassador of the Republic of Peru, a Latin American State from Amazon region, has said.

Talking exclusively with Qatar Tribune during the display of pictures showcasing Peru and promoting its tourism, Perea paid gratitude to Director General of Katara Cultural Village Foundation HE Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti for extending valuable support and cooperation to the embassy of Peru for organising the ‘Peru Through Photography’ event.

The envoy praised the role of Katara in bringing people of different cultures and civilizations closer to each other by providing a platform and opportunity to embassies to arrange various cultural, musical and other exhibitions.

There were 43 pictures displaying the history of this ancient country, and the diversity of its terrain, climate as well as flora and fauna. From the Peruvian national flower the Cantuta, the Peruvian orchid, the Gallito De Las Rocas, the national bird and animal of Peru, the Jucata-Amazonas Falls, and the Amazon River, all the way to historical monuments such as Quilab Castle Amazonas, the photograph collections transported the myriad hues of the country to thousands of miles away in Qatar.

Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said in a statement on the occasion of the opening of the two exhibitions, that the Cultural Village Foundation diversifies its exhibitions by shedding light on multiple cultures and civilizations to give visitors to the Cultural Village the opportunity to get to know the multiple sides of other cultures and in different ways, pointing out that each of these events and activities achieve Katara’s message, which seeks to build bridges of communication between peoples through art in its various

tributaries.
