MUMBAI: Large parts of India’s financial capital, Mumbai, and its suburbs faced a power blackout on Monday that disrupted train services and threw life out of gear for millions of residents.
The power failure, which began around 10 am (0430 GMT), was due to failure of a grid, according to the city’s electricity supply board.
The power supply was restored in most parts of the city by early evening. State chief minister Uddhav Thackeray ordered an immediate probe into the large-scale power failure, which was rare for the country’s commercial hub. (DPA)
