STOCKHOLM: Norway’s government on Tuesday blamed Russia for the recent hack of a number of email accounts linked to members and employees of the parliament in Oslo.
“This is a serious incident that affects our most important democratic institution,” Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide said in a statement.
“Based on the information the government has, it is our assessment that Russia is behind this activity,” she added.
She later told reporters it was key to hold Russia accountable for the hack, and going public was part of that process.
The Russian ambassador to Norway has been informed about the Norwegian findings, Eriksen said. (DPA)
