Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), the umbrella organisation of Indian community associations under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, has introduced an online system to track the consular services it provides.
Those who apply for renewal of passport and other documents through the ICC can now track the status of their application through the link: https://getappointment.iccqatar.com/track. Updates will be available to the applicants 12 hours after the submission of the application.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, ICC President AP Manikantan said, “The new tracking system will provide the applicants with all the updates and status of the application. In case of a delay in processing the application, the system will show the reason for the delay and when the process is completed, it will show the message ‘Ready at ICC’, and so on. Applicants need not to call or arrive at the ICC to know the status of their applications.”
The tracking system provides updates to the applicants based on the information received from the Indian Embassy. The new system will help in addressing the concerns of the applicants,as well as avoiding unnecessary crowds on the ICC premises in the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
ICC, which functions even on weekend holidays, is the only window for the Indian community in Qatar to access consular services, other than the Indian Embassy itself.
The Indian community is the largest expatriate community in Qatar with over 600,000 members, and the ICC receives more than 50,000 applications for various consular services every month. ICC’s social media accounts receive over 20,000 visits every day.
