The ninth edition of the local agricultural product sale began in Qatar on Thursday with the participation of 150 local farms in the yards of Al Mazroa, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Al Shamal and Al Sheehaniya. The yard sale will go on throughout the season on weekends, from Thursday to Saturday from 7am to 4pm, according to Ahmed Al Yafei from the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME). He said the ministry has taken several measures to ensure quality and safety of vegetables. The MME, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, will collect random samples of vegetables from the yards and test for pesticides, he added. (TNN)
