Super Kings won the first all india badminton championship organised by Qatar KMCC State Sports Wing recently.
The tournament, which took place on October 29 and 30th at the Alwakra Green Stadium, was attended by 16 prominent expatriate teams from Qatar.
The tournament was conducted in accordance with all the MOPH safety and COVID-19 protocols.
Super kings defeated Team Uniq in the final. KMCC Vadakara Town Team and Team Masters finished third.
Rehan Arshad, plus two student of Birla School,native of Kannur Thalipparamba and Arjun Shine eighth standard student of MES School, native of Trivandrum, were the players for Super kings. Mithun Jose and Aju Emmanuel played for runners-up Team Uniq.
The winners were presented with QR2,000 Qatari and a trophy by Qatar KMCC President SAM Basheer and Indian Sports Center Vice President Sharaf P Hameed.
KMCC State Acting Secretary Mustafa Elathur and Keshavdas Nilambur presented QR1000 and a trophy to the runners-up.
Radi Najeeb and Faiz Ahmed won the Emerging Player Award of the tournament.
The tournament was conducted by referees from the badminton sssociation.
SAM Basheer marked the closing ceremony which was presided over by Siddique Vazhakkad, Chairman, Qatar KMCC Sports Wing.
KMCC Sports Wing Convener Ibrahim Pariyaram, Badminton Association President Pawan Kumar and DOM Qatar President VC Mashhood spoke on the occasion.
Qatar KMCC Sports Wing office-bearers Abdul Aziz Edachery, Siddique Paramban, Ajmal Thengalakandi, Noufal CK, Mujeeb Koissery, Muhammad Bayar, Shoukath Elathur, Sameer Pattambi, Niyas Moorkanad, Raseel Perinthalmanna, Rashid Perinthalmanna, Juraj Vazhakkad and Noufal Pullukkara worked hard to make the tournament a success.
