Qatar Charity (QC) honoured outstanding students of the Qatari School in Tirana, as well as top students sponsored by the Qatari Embassy in Albania.
The ceremony was attended by Evis Kushi, Albania’s Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, and Ambassador of Qatar to Albania HE Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri, as well as a number of dignitaries, officials of humanitarian organisations and government agencies, professors, educators and parents.
During the ceremony, 110 female and male students of the Qatari School and those sponsored by Qatar Charity in Albania were honoured. Some 11 students received more than 95% marks. In addition, 45 university graduates, previously sponsored by Qatar Charity, were honoured. The list of honoured graduates includes those who have studied medicine, engineering, computer science, media and other prestigious academic disciplines within and outside Albania.
At the ceremony, Qatari Ambassador HE Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri expressed his gratitude for the continued humanitarian and development efforts of Qatar Charity and for its clear impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, and thanked the donors in Qatar for supporting the Albanian people.
Minister of Education, Sports and Youth of Albania Evis Kushi expressed his delight at participating in the ceremony, and thanked Qatar Charity for supporting educational and other projects in the country.
At the end of the ceremony, the Qatari Ambassador, together with the Minister and other officials, presented awards and certificates of thanks to outstanding students, wishing them further success and continued success in their studies.
The passing rate of the students of Qatari School for the year 2019-2020 is 100 percent. All of the students have joined public and private universities.
In addition to its efforts at Qatari School, Qatar Charity’s office in Tirana oversees two other educational projects that benefit more than 2,000 students annually.
