As part of the efforts to enhance online services provided for the public, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced the launch of an online service related to receiving cheque reports via its website.
The ministry said the security departments of the Capital Police, Al-Rayyan, Al-Shamal, Al-Janoub and Dukhan have begun to receive cheque reports via the online service on the Ministry of Interior website.
Colonel Hassan Ali Al Buainain, assistant director of Al-Rayyan Security Department, said this step would facilitate the process of cheque case reporting procedures for companies, banks and individuals.
He added that the complainant or public relations officers (PROs) would not needed to visit any security department concerned to submit a manual report any more, making it easier for individuals and institutions to file report, and saving them effort and time, as well as helping the departments to speed up the completion of transactions.
He pointed out that the complainant, whether an individual or an authorised person in the institutions, can log in to the service and submit a report and attach all the documents required to complete the report, adding that once it is submitted, the concerned department will review the report data and the required documents and confirm their validity.
After that, a text message will be sent via Metrash stating the successful receipt of the report and its number, he said.
In the event of lack of any documents, the complaining party will get a text message to inform it about the required documents in order to complete the case procedures and refer it to the Public Prosecution in accordance with the law.
The complainant can also inquire about the status of the case through the electronic follow-up service through the details of case, cheque or the complainant.
