Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari on Thursday met with William Russell, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, and an accompanying delegation.
Discussions touched on the promotion of bilateral relations and the development of joint cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, economy and investment.
Qatar and the United Kingdom carried out trade worth $2.47 billion between January and September 2020. This was approximately $3.85 billion in 2019, ranking the UK as Qatar’s seventh largest trading partner.
A total of 1,134 partly or fully owned British firms are currently operating in Qatar, including 993 Qatari-British companies, two representative offices, 104 fully-owned British companies, and 35 British firms registered under the Qatar Financial Centre. (TNN)
