Ooredoo’s Chief Strategy Officer Munera Al Dosari has been honoured with an award at the recent WeQual Awards 2020, the telecom company has announced.
Munera Al Dosari won the award in the Strategy Development Category of the WeQual Awards, which were designed to promote diversity and gender equality within the group executive committees of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)’s largest companies.
The WeQual organisation itself, founded by Briton Katie Litchfield, aims to identify and recognise female executives ranked a level below group C-suite with the aim of supporting them to take up positions in C-suites.
Twenty-four finalists were selected from an extensive list of potential candidates, with the finalists being assessed against seven criteria - leadership, cognitive ability, integrity, drive and resilience, equality, knowledge of the business and personal development.
All candidates were assessed blind, with no details of name or company shared in their application.
Finalists were then invited for a 30-minute interview with a panel of judges drawn from a number of different high-profile companies across a range of industries, including JP Morgan, Rolls Royce, Centrica and Zurich.
Being listed as a finalist in the WeQual awards enables candidates to access a range of WeQual support services and networks designed to support a move to group executive level. Some 25 percent of WeQual award winners have, since their award win, been promoted to the global executive committees of FTSE and Fortune 500 companies.
Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari, director PR at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted that our colleague Munera has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to strategy development at Ooredoo. Munera is an incredibly valuable member of our senior management team and a role model to many aspirational young Qatari women thanks to her talent, dedication and commitment to her career. We look forward to seeing Munera progress further, and we’re sure she will be an asset to Ooredoo in the years to come.”
