The Free Book Distribution Ceremony-2021 was held at the Bangladesh MHM School & College recently, in line with the directives of Bangladesh Government and similar to other schools in Bangladesh.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar and Chairman of the school HE Md Jashim Uddin inaugurated the programme.
Director of the school Lt. Cdr (Retd) Md Anwar Khurshid, Principal Md Jashim Uddin, Vice-Principal Md Zulfiker Azad, Bangladesh Embassy officials, teachers and students were present at the programme conducted on the assembly ground, maintaining social distance.
HE Md Jashim Uddin, in his speech, discussed the importance of books in education. "Books might not be interesting for the time being in student life, but ultimately they take man to the targeted goal,” he said, advising the students to consider books as an integral part of their life. He remembered his teachers and expressed his gratitude to them for helping him reach the zenith of his career.
He said the country is crossing the centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and will be celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Independence of Bangladesh.
In his opening speech, director Anwar Khurshid expressed his heartfelt thanks to the ambassador for his presence at the ceremony. He advised the students to become devoted to their studies after getting the new books from the beginning of this New Year. He also thanked Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina for her initiative to distribute books to all students in Bangladesh on the first day of every year.
