Principal of DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) Asna Nafees received the Award of Excellence for outstanding academic results at the 33rd CBSE Gulf Sahodaya Principals’ Conference held via videoconferencing recently.
The inaugural session of the conference, held under the aegis of the Council of CBSE-Affiliated Schools in the Gulf Region, was addressed by Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Minister of Education, Govt. of India, in the presence of Manoj Ahuja, CBSE chairman, and HE Dr Ausaf Sayeed, ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia.
The forum honoured the efforts of meritorious students of DPS-MIS in the academic year 2019-2020.
Asna Nafees received the ‘Gulf Toppers Award’ on behalf of DPS-MIS for its excellent performance in Grade XII.
DPS-MIS student Najah Ismail bagged the position of the Gulf topper in the science stream with an aggregate of 98.6 percent in CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination 2019-20.
Receiving the award of excellence for the 8th consecutive year is a glorious achievement for DPS-MIS and speaks volumes about the vision and mission of the school.
Interactive sessions were conducted with Dr Kiran Bedi, Lieuteant Governor of Puducherry, and CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi, Director Academics Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Director Training Dr Biswajit Saha, Controller of Examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj and Regional Officer (Delhi and Foreign Schools) J K Yadav to discuss about major reforms planned in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. The effective implementation of the new National Educational Policy was the focal point of most of the sessions during the two-day conference.
