The Fire Station: Artist in Residence has unveiled Acts of Listening from Future Generations, an exhibition curated by David Suarez Mira, who participated in its International Curator in Residence programme in 2020.
Mira invites the audience to submerge their minds in the world of sound in an experience focusing on sonic reflections promoted by artists and the environment.
The exhibition features the sonic art experiences of artists Sonic Jeel, Mubarak Althani, Alya Al Khalifa, Guillaume Rouseré, Robin Pender, Mariam Rafehi, Sebasti?n Betancur, Ivan Aleksic, Ilija Aritonovic and Asma Derouiche.
Mira is a journalist, museum advisor and independent curator.
He is a candidate for the MA in Curatorial Practice at the School of Visual Arts (New York) and has an MA in Museum Studies and Cultural Heritage Management from the National University of Colombia. His research interests centre on the permanent transformation of cultural appropriation in migratory processes and local traditions through new electronic, sculptural, performative and socially engaged narratives.
Mira’s projects focus on developing a dynamic relationship between the audience and artists in multiple transmedia and community-based formats.

Opening hours for the Fire Station: 9am to 7pm Saturday to Thursdays and 1:30pm to 7pm on Fridays.
Qatar Museums has implemented protocols in accordance with recommendations from Qatar’s Health Protection and Communicable Disease Control office of the Ministry of Public Health. In keeping with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Public Health, a limited number of visitors and staff will be allowed in the Fire Station at any given time.
Upon arrival, visitors will be required to present a ‘green’ health status on the Ehteraz virus-tracing app. Masks are required for all visitors (aged 12 and older). Each person will also be checked for a normal temperature reading at the entrance.
Visitors who have a high temperature or who are not wearing a mask will not be allowed into the Fire Station.
