The Indian Sports Centre (ISC) has announced members of its new Managing Committee and Advisory Council, following the elections held online last month by the Embassy of India for the centre.
Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal is the Patron of ISC and Capt Mohan Atla, defence attache, Embassy of India, will be the Coordinating Officer.
Following are nominated as the Managing Committee members of ISC: Dr Mohan Thomas, President, Activity: Overall Co-ordinator; Sheji Valiyakath, Vice-President, Activity: Membership, Premises development & sponsorship, Qatar Shooting; T S Sreenivas, General Secretary, Activity: Primary: Tennis, Secondary: Cricket, School Games; Rukkaiya Pachisa, Head of Finance, Activity: Primary: Golf, Secondary: Ladies Games, Trekking; Rajesh Kannan, Joint Secretary, Activity: Primary: Yoga and Fitness, Secondary: Water Sports, Swimming; John DeSa, Head, Activity: Primary: Football, Secondary: Hockey & Carrom; Yawar Ali, Head, Activity: Primary: Volleyball, Secondary: Basketball; Safeeru Rahman, Head,Activity: Primary: Badminton, Secondary: Football, Squash, Tug of War & Arm Wrestling; Varkey Boban, Head, Activity: Primary: Table Tennis, Secondary: Badminton, Chess; Anil Boloor, Head, Activity: Primary: Throwball, Secondary: Cricket, Cycling; and Shivani, Head, Activity: Primary: Cricket, Secondary: School Games.

“The new office-bearers are planning activities for the promotion of sports and games among the Indian community and celebrate yoga in a notable manner. They are also setting up plans to support the host country in the upcoming international events and provide a facility for sports activities to the Indian community,” said Dr Mohan Thomas, president of ISC.
