A total of 60 of the very best and brightest College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q) students were feted for their 2019-2020 academic achievements during a hybrid ceremony.
The students are recognised based on six categories: Overall Highest Achiever Scholarship, Highest Achiever Merit Award, Achievement Award, Distinction Award, Industrial Trades Dean Award, English as a Foundation Language (EFL) Award.
The Highest Achiever Award was presented to Business Management Accounting student Shana Parveen Abdurahiman and Applied Business Administration Accounting student Sara Fouad.
Merit Awards were presented to the Highest Achievers from each of the college’s schools: Business Management and Information Technology - Almas Sami Ahmad Ayubi, Mary Rose Tabilin Villanueva, Patrick Gerald, Sidi Mohamed El Youssy; Health Sciences - Jasmin Sami Zaid, Raniah Farooq; Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades - Mona Sami Abuhussin, Shuaib Muhammed Ali.
CNA-Q President Dr Salem Al Naemi said, “This ceremony is not only a recognition of the students’ outstanding results. We are honouring their studiousness and their will to achieve even under the most unusual circumstances. Today, we mark the 18th anniversary of ‘The Academic Awards’, an important college tradition and a much-awaited event by CNA-Q students and faculty. I am confident these award-winning students will have a bright future ahead of them and will make Qatar very proud.”
Highest Achievers are awarded with scholarships and all winners receive a college certificate and the distinction is noted on their official transcript.
Since its inception in 2002, CNA-Q has grown to offer more than 30 programmes in the fields of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, Business Management and Information Technology, Health Sciences, Continuous Education, development and more.
The college is recognised for its student-centred learning and state-of-the-art training facilities. CNA-Q graduated thousands of alumni who are proudly contributing to a knowledge-based economy and making the Qatar National Vision 2030 a reality.
