The MES Indian School celebrated its 46th Annual Day, titled ‘Mesmerise’, on virtual platform recently withzest and vibrancy. Ambassador of India to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal was the chief guest on the occasion while K Abdul Karim, president, MES Governing Board, was the guest of honour. The progamme was live-streamed on the school’s Facebook page.
in his address, Dr Deepak Mittal complimented the school and its stakeholders for their exceptional efforts and resilience in carrying forward the scholastic and co-scholastic programmes without interruption during these testing times of the pandemic. He also extolled the outstanding initiatives of the school towards the holistic development of its students and in promoting academic and sporting talents.
Karim appreciated the efforts of the school in equipping students with skills needed to face the challenges of the world, including the ones posed by the new normal.
MES Principal Hameeda Kadar presented the school’s Annual Report, which chronicled the landmark achievements and accolades garnered during the academic year 2019-20.
Annamma Shammy, vice-principal and head of Girls’ section, and Mohammed Ilias, vice-principal and head of Boys’ section, announced the awards and gold medals to the school toppers and mementos to the meritorious students of CBSE Board Examinations 2019.
Ahmed Isham, general secretary officiating, Kashif Jaleel, director, academics, MES Governing Board, presented long-service awards and citations to the school staff who have successfully completed 25 years of loyal service.
The programme had a special mention by the principal for the successful teachers, who have enabled their students with guidance and motivation to produce 100 marks in their respective subjects.
A special video presentation highlighting all the exclusive achievements of the school mesmerised the audience. It was followed by the captivating and spectacular performance of cultural programmes by the students under the theme ‘Facing Corona Situation’.
Among the other luminaries present on the virtual platform to witness the 46th virtual Annual Day celebration were the members of the school Governing Board, invitees, school officials, parents, teachers and students. Zara Khursheed from the Girls’ section welcomed the gathering, while Reyhan Salim from the Junior section, proposed the vote of thanks.
