The Ministry of Interior, Qatar Rail and DECC station, among other state corporations, celebrated Family Day in Qatar, which takes place on April 15th each year, by lighting up their facades in green to emphasise the importance of the family and its role in community building. The idea of dedicating a family day in the State of Qatar arose from Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser, President of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, who invited her to celebrate Family Day, a pioneering idea approved by the Council of Ministers in 2011.
