Ooredoo has announced the timely launch of a new CSR umbrella campaign, Ooredoo AlKhair, under which it will devise and implement a wide range of charitable initiatives to benefit Qatar’s community.
The Ooredoo AlKhair campaign includes a number of initiatives with a variety of goals, and it begins with a number of community activities in the first days of Ramadan: a delivery of gifts to patients at the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre; support for the Ehsan Centre for Empowerment and Elderly Care to help them continue their awareness program; and a delivery of Eidiya to teams of laboured men.
Ooredoo is sponsoring two Qatar Red Crescent Society campaigns: one for Ramadan, the Khairkum Sabeq Festival, which aims to ensure that everyone has enough food this Ramadan, and one for the long term, a new campaign to fundraise and mobilise international support for a vaccination campaign aimed at ensuring vaccine equity for vulnerable groups.
The telco leader is also collaborating with non-profit organisations Education Above All to help raise awareness and funds for educational projects that promote access to education for all, and Silatech on its fund-raising campaign titled ‘Spare Them from Asking,’ which will support those whose jobs have been lost as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic’s negative economic impact.
Sabah Rabiah Al-Kuwari, Director PR at Ooredoo, said: “We’re proud to launch Ooredoo AlKhair, and to offer our support to so many charitable organisations. We are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate year-round, as a key part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, but the holy month of Ramadan is a particularly special time of year in this regard and the perfect time in which to launch such a worthwhile campaign. We look forward to working with all the organisations in the year to come, and to seeing them make a difference to our communities and our people.”
Ooredoo AlKhair will run throughout the year, with the campaign expanding and developing to include new initiatives. Ooredoo’s media partner Qommunication will assist the company in promoting and publicising the campaign..
