DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) Junior Boys team comprising Daiwik Dhar, Govind Krishna and Krish Nagrani, bagged the Qatar Preparatory School Debate National Championship after a tough battle of words recently.
It was a long journey of eight rounds of debates. Team DPS-MIS topped both league I & II and qualified for the National Championship in the open category. They defeated Pakistan International School in the semi-finals with their impromptu skills on the motion, "This house believes that upon sufficient evidence that more could have been done to avert pandemics in their countries, politicians should be tried and prosecuted for the high death rates and economic loss in their countries”.
In the Grand Final, DPS-MIS boys were against Olive international school on the motion, "This House Would forcibly relocate high risk communities that refuse to resettle in response to climate change”.
After a close fight, Team DPS-MIS was declared the winners and Daiwik Dhar bagged the best speaker award. In the individual category, Krish Nagrani secured 5th position, followed by Mehull Girdhar at 8th and Govind Krishna at 9th position. "It was an educative and interesting session and chiselled the debating skills of the participants,” Principal Asna Nafees said in her congratulatory message to the team on their stupendous success.
