Caretaker Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic Dr Hassan Diab has praised the talks he held in Doha recently with His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, which dealt with the situation in Lebanon.
In an interview with Al-Sharq, Dr Diab expressed his confidence that Qatar, which stood by Lebanon in all historical milestones, will stand by its people in the difficult social and living conditions.
He said the causes of the economic crisis in Lebanon are many, some of which are related to the political reality that Lebanon is currently experiencing, and some of them are due to accumulated factors. Today, Lebanon faces an economic, living and social catastrophe that must be remedied, he stressed.
Regarding the way out of the political crisis, he said the formation of the government is the right way to get Lebanon out of its crisis. He called for a government to be formed as soon as possible.
Dr Diab said Qatar has always taken the initiative to stand by Lebanon and the Lebanese people in difficult times. page 2
