As a tribute to the frontline doctors and nurses who are fighting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Riyasat Doha will donate 200 meals to Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
The initiative comes as part of the restaurant’s special partnership with the Emergency Health Preparedness Department at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to honour medical caregivers on the frontlines of the pandemic.
Since its opening in October 2020, Riyasat Doha, located in the opulent Al Gassar St. Regis Resort, has been driven by a strong sense of engagement in charitable causes. The outlet is considered more than just a royalty inspired Indian restaurant; it represents a focused core business philosophy on giving back to the community.
Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, located in Ar-Rayyan, is one of HMC’s latest facilities with an intensive care unit for COVID-19 patients and over 200 dedicated medical staff working around the clock.
Riyasat will be preparing 200 heart-warming Biryani meals at the restaurant’s kitchen with the help of all its staff members. The meals will be packed in boxes, ensuring all safety measures and precautions are taken, and delivered straight to the hospital’s frontline workers.
Chef Jolly commented: “These doctors and nurses are the heroes of our society. For the past 15 months they have been constantly putting their lives before others in the continuous fight against the virus. Serving them a heart-warming meal for Eid is the least we can do. They deserve to be honoured in every way possible. There is a chance they might not be able to go home and spend a nice home-cooked meal with their families for Eid, and hence the idea came up. We are sure serving them a meal prepared with love and care straight from our kitchen will put a smile on their face and lift their stress away. It is a privilege to be able to offer some form of comfort to those who have been working literally nonstop.”
Surjan Singh Jolly, known as Chef Jolly, along with Anjan Chatterjee, founder and chairman, are the men behind this restaurant’s incredible passion, vision and mission. From the nobility and royal court kitchens to humble street food of popular cities in India, Chef Jolly is known to be a prominent figure on the global culinary scene. He is most notably an Indian celebrity chef who has been Chef Judge for Master Chef India, a television personality and culinary consultant with over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry.
Riyasat Doha continues its takeaway service for Eid al-Fitr, in addition to its delivery service through Talabat, Foodak Premium and Snoonu, delivering straight to your doorstep. For more information, contact Riyasat on WhatsApp on +974 5053 4103 or visit their website www.riyasatdoha.com.
The restaurant will be operating for deliveries from 12pm to 12am.
Riyasat is one of the many verticals of Speciality Restaurants Limited, which is an Indian restaurant company that owns multiple chains of fine and casual dining restaurants in Indian and international locations. Anjan Chatterjee is the founder and chairman of the company.
