Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation (ALF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint cooperation.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, chairman of the Board of Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation, and Ali Abdullah Al Khater, CEO of Corporate Communications at HMC, in the presence of Nasser Al Naimi, deputy chief quality officer and co-director Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, HMC.
The terms of the memorandum of understanding cover areas of cooperation between (ALF) and HMC, including sponsoring community projects, programmes and initiatives intended to extend support to HMC patients, such as blood and organ donation campaigns, mental and social support programmes, extending material support to needy patients, as well as facilitating community awareness campaigns through forums and training courses for the community, in addition to cooperation in the field of medical conferences.
Sheikh Faisal said, “Since its foundation, ALF has been keen at supporting programmes and initiatives which promote corporate social responsibility in Qatar, and build partnerships with government and NGOs in educational, healthcare, communal and charitable domains. We, at (ALF) nurture the development of education, health care and strive to place charity where it belongs.
“Signing this MoU with HMC culminates many previous projects and initiatives sponsored by ALF, including, but not limited to, health awareness campaigns, blood and organ donation campaigns, educational activities for paediatric, cancer and kidney patients at hospitals and healthcare facilities. We are thankful to HMC for giving us the opportunity to share cooperation in serving our beloved country and fulfilling the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
Commenting on the MoU, Khater said, “The MoU with ALF represents a vital initiative aiming at enacting cooperation between the two parties to serve the interests of patients. ALF has been a pioneer in building community partnerships to benefit all residents of Qatar.
“I am quite confident that this MoU will open new horizons for HMC to further boost its awareness and health education activities, such as blood and organ donation campaigns, and enable HMC to extend more financial and social assistance to needy patients. This MoU also adds to the success of medical conferences through contributing to the finances required for such events. As always, all patients benefit from these initiatives.”
Khater thanked ALF management and hoped for continued fruitful cooperation in many future ventures.
On his part, Nasser Al Naimi expressed delight to have the MoU signed, describing it as central to serving patients’ interests and improving patients experiences during their healthcare path.
He commended the MoU as an exemplary means to boost corporate partnership between HMC and other organisations in Qatar.
Naimi said, “Through the Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement, HMC strives to enhance patient experiences and develop a patient-centred approach in providing healthcare services to patients and their family members, particularly those in need of financial support. We have high hopes of a continued partnership and support from ALF whereby HMC would be able to achieve its vision, message and strategic objectives.”
