talabat, the region’s leading food and grocery delivery app, on Tuesday announced an initiative, in collaboration with Qatar Charity, to raise awareness and funds for humanitarian needs in Palestine.
On Thursday, May 27, the organisation will use its platform as a vehicle for support to Palestine. Through its initiative, every order placed on its app across all talabat’s markets, will contribute towards humanitarian relief efforts in Palestine.
In addition, through its employee giving back programme, talabat employees can choose to voluntarily give up a portion of their salaries, topped up by talabat.
Customers can also participate by donating directly through the talabat app on any date by searching for Qatar Charity.
talabat Chief Executive Officer Tomaso Rodriguez said, "The world has been witnessing the current humanitarian crisis and we believe it is our duty, as people and as an organisation, to stand for humanity and lend a helping hand to the Palestinians in need of humanitarian support.
"With support from our long-standing regional partner, the World Food Programme and local partner Qatar Charity, we are raising awareness and together with our community we are enabling financial support towards humanitarian relief efforts for Palestine.”
Managing Director of talabat Qatar Francisco Miguel de Sousa said, "talabat Qatar has partnered with Qatar Charity to offer urgent humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians. We encourage our customers and employees to contribute to this fundraising campaign, which would provide food and health aid to those in need and help alleviate their suffering.”
The talabat app can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play or from the Huawei App Gallery.
