MES Indian School won the overall championship of the 6th Uswa-e-Rasool Inter-school Elocution Competition recently.
Aaesha Fathima of Class VI won the first prize in the junior category, while Onaisa Rashid of Class X secured the third prize in the senior category. Ahmed Faisal of Class X won the third prize in the Quran recitation competition.
The competitions were organised by Ideal Indian School for the expatriate schools from the Indian sub-continent -- India, Pakistan and Bangladesh -- in Qatar. Out of 10 schools that participated in the competition, MES won the overall trophy securing 270 points.
The competitions were conducted in senior and junior categories for boys and girls.
For juniors, the topic was ‘Prophet Mohammed’ (PBUH), the teacher of mankind, and for seniors ‘Islam is a religion of peace and love’. The School Management and Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar congratulated the winners for their creditable achievements.
Rassia Hamza and Habeebullah, teachers of the Department of Arabic, Urdu and Islamic Studies, trained the students in elocution and Quran recitation, respectively.
