Beautiful Memories of Palestine, a pictorial journey through Palestine, is currently on view at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Library until September 30, 2021.
The exhibition features books from MIA’s Rare Book Collection which are largely published in European languages as travel journals, stories and histories, depicting a great fascination for the Arab world.
A series of programmes are planned alongside the exhibition, including webinars, embroidery and landscape painting workshops. The exhibition can also be viewed online through the library page of MIA’s website: www.mia.org.qa/en/library
The MIA Library is open from Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 7pm, and on Friday from 1pm to 7pm.
In keeping with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), a limited number of visitors and staff will be allowed inside each museum. Visitors will be required to reserve tickets in advance on the Qatar Museums website: https://visit.qm.org.qa/
Upon arrival at the museum, ticketholders must present a ‘green’ health status on the Ehteraz virus-tracing app.
Each person will also be checked for a normal temperature reading at the entrance. Visitors, who are 12 years of age and above, will be required to bring and wear a mask.
Hand sanitiser stations will be placed throughout the location encouraging visitors to keep their hands clean. Signage reminding visitors to keep a safe distance from other visitors will also be visible on-site. In addition, interactive features at each museum such as touchscreens will be temporarily removed and gallery guides will be offered online only.
