Senior business leaders made an official visit to the project site of The View Hospital, which is on track to open in August next year.
The View Hospital will be operated by Elegancia Healthcare in affiliation with Cedars-Sinai, the internationally renowned healthcare group based in Los Angeles.
The state-of-the-art 242-bed facility, spanning approximately 101,000 squaremetres, is situated in Al Qutaifiya, neighbouring The Pearl, overlooking Katara and the skyline of Doha.
Representatives from Cedars-Sinai and Elegancia Healthcare toured the construction site which included a presentation of the design concept and renderings of the hospital.
The delegation discussed the hospital’s features, departments and facilities.
The 15-storey hospital will offer a comprehensive range of medical services and facilities, including 12 intensive care units, eight critical care units, 11 neo-natal intensive care units and six labour, delivery and recovery rooms. The façade of the hospital integrates LED technology to produce an effect of flowing water - a welcoming sight for patients seeking quality health care.
The visiting team comprised Elegancia Healthcare CEO Bassam Sayad, FACHE and Cedars-Sinai Senior Vice-President of Operations Bryan Croft, Interim Chief Medical Officer/Medical Advisor Dr Georges Feghali and Executive Director, Facilities, Planning, Design and Construction Sean Collins.
Commenting on the visit, Sayad said, "We are delighted to partner with Cedars-Sinai in this important project, which will encourage knowledge-sharing and collaboration across international borders. The global pandemic has, of course, been a huge challenge, but our fantastic team has used all their experience and skills to make sure the project is on track to welcome its first patients next year.”
On his part, Croft said, " We have appreciated these three days of productive discussions. We look forward to our continued collaboration as we work to improve healthcare delivery that will benefit the people of Qatar and the region.”
Ramez Al Khayyat, Elegancia group managing director, said: "We are excited to collaborate on this important initiative with Cedars-Sinai. As the Ministry of Public Health expands the role of private healthcare sector, The View will directly contribute to quality healthcare delivery for the Qatari community.
"COVID-19 has highlighted how much we all rely on our doctors and nurses. We want to support our medical practitioners and help them work to the very best of their abilities. The View provides them with the modern facilities to do just that.”
