Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) announced the implementation of the sacrifice project in collaboration with Widam Food Company on the first day of Eid Al-Adha 1442 AH.
In this regard, Awadallah Hamdan Al-Siddiq, director of Qatar Red Crescent Society’s Representative Office in Sudan, said the project’s beneficiaries this year totaled 4,500 needy families, totaling more than 23,000 people.
According to Al-Siddiq, the sacrifices are supplied from local Sudanese markets, where Widam Food Company slaughters and prepares them, provided that the distribution process occurs during the days of sacrifice, as per Islamic Sharia teachings.
Qatar Red Crescent Society began humanitarian operations in Sudan in 2003, and it currently funds and implements numerous humanitarian projects in various Sudanese states.

In this legally recognized capacity, QRCS has access to disaster and conflict zones, thus serving as an auxiliary to the State of Qatar in its humanitarian efforts — a role that distinguishes it from other local charities and NGOs.
