Qatar Charity (QC) has provided 50 wheelchairs to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to transport patients to support the corporation’s efforts to provide health services.
The handing over of the chairs comes as part of joint social responsibility among the state institutions to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 and to embody the partnership in supporting the development process.
The wheelchairs were handed over by Faisal bin Rashid Al Fahida, assistant CEO of Programmes and Community Development Sector at Qatar Charity, to Hamad Al Khalifa, head of Facilities Development at HMC and head of Business Services.
Fahida thanked Hamad Medical Corporation and those in charge for their efforts in community service and their cooperation with Qatar Charity.
He said, Qatar Charity’s donation confirms its belief in the necessity of concerted efforts and integration of roles between civil society organisations, humanitarian institutions and service bodies, and falls within the cooperation between Qatar Charity and Hamad Medical Corporation through the implementation of programmes in humanitarian fields to serve the community.
He praised the important role played by the corporation in terms of health care for patients, medical care and services to the societ.
For his part, Khalifa said, "Hamad Medical Corporation appreciates Qatar Charity’s donation of the second batch of wheelchairs to serve patients and visitors.
Qatar Charity had signed a memorandum of understanding with HMC to support activities and projects for patients to enhance their confidence in the medical services, in addition to implementing joint programmes and events that serve the objectives of both parties and supporting some of the activities of the Center for the Experience and Participation of Patients and Employees.
