Hanoi: Vietnam has approved the UAE-made Chinese coronavirus vaccine, Hayat-Vax, for emergency use, the government said on Friday as the country continues to see high numbers of new daily cases.
Hayat-Vax is now the seventh vaccine to receive approval from the Vietnamese government, following AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson this year. The Hayat-Vax vaccine, manufactured by China’s Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd and packaged at Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries in the UAE, was approved on the same day that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Hanoi for a three-day visit.
