Qatari stocks resumed gaining trend as the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index gained 46.01 points, or 0.42 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 11,129.72 points on Tuesday.
The volume of shares traded increased to 308.9 million on Tuesday from 230.459 million on Monday. The value of shares increased to QR680.87 million from QR482.27 million on Monday.
Indices of four sectors out of seven ended in the positive territory. While two sectors closed in the red zone, one sector remained unchanged.
The industrial sector, which gained over 1 percent on the back of gains in its prime constituents like IQ, MPHC, GIS, Qamco and others, was the best performing sector index for the day.
The QSE Total Return index gained 0.42 percent 22,031.95 points. While the QSE Al Rayan Islamic index increased 0.66 percent to 4,675.83 points, the QSE All Share index added 0.33 percent to 3,531.71 points.
Meanwhile, Dubai’s stock market ended lower on Tuesday, extending losses for a second consecutive session, while investors in Egypt were optimistic about the central bank keeping interest rates on hold.
