Secretary-General of Qatar Athletics Federation Mohammed Issa Al Fadala won the position of Vice-President of the West Asian Athletics Association by acclamation during the elections that took place on the sidelines of the association’s General Assembly held in Kuwait on Saturday, in the presence of Dahlan Al Hamad, President of the Asian Athletics Association. The General Assembly also selected President of Kuwait Athletics Federation Sayar Al Enezi as President of the West Asian Association for the next four years. In his statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Mohammed Issa Al Fadala extended thanks and appreciation to HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani for his great support during the elections; stressing that it was not surprising for HE the President of the Olympic Committee to always support Qatari competencies. Al Fadala also thanked HE QOC Second Vice-President and President of Qatar Athletics Federation Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, members of the Board of Directors of the federation and all those affiliated with Qatar athletics. He stressed that his success and winning the position of Vice-President of the West Asian Athletics Association is dedicated to Qatari sports and athletics, and proves the great trust that the Asian athletics family places in Qatar and the Qatari federation. Al Fadala expressed confidence in members of the West Asian Athletics Association, stressing the keenness to develop athletics in the region.
