Ambassador of Thailand to Qatar HE Nathapol Khantahiran and Maryam Al-Sayed, public relations director at the Elite Paper Recycling (EPR), on behalf of the company’s chairman Abdallah Al-Suwaidi, signed a Partnership Declaration on Environmental Sustainability and Recycling under the Green Diplomacy Programme at the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha. The partnership aims to preserve the environment by reducing paper waste through recycling and raise awareness among the public of environmental conservation.
Speaking at the ceremony, HE Nathapol Khantahiran said, “The Royal Thai Embassy is pleased to join hands with EPR in raising awareness of waste reduction and paper recycling. The embassy and Thai community have been actively participating in several projects to promote environmental sustainability in Qatar. This is another stepping stone towards further collaboration on the sustainable environmental project between Thailand and Qatar.
“The Thai Government has been advocating for the Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model (BCG) whereby economic growth is generated without placing any undue burden on the environment and biodiversity. We believe that sustainable development must be all-inclusive, involving close collaboration from the public and private sector, as well as the community, to collectively implement this principle.”
“Environment is vital for all and we thank EPR for this outreach project to engage with embassies. We hope to promote the eco-friendly workplace and contribute to Qatar’s long-term commitment towards sustainability in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, the ambassador added.
